Elderly woman receives air conditioner.

One of our consumers, frail and elderly, suffered a recent hip fracture and needed an air conditioner during her extended recovery to help cool her intolerably hot apartment. Even with open windows and a ceiling fan, the heat build-up in her apartment on hot days could not be dissipated, placing her health at risk. Her doctor wrote a prescription for the equipment, and we researched and funded the purchase of an easily operated portable air conditioner. The woman called to say how appreciative she was for this service.
